AutoPro ST25 Infared Thermometer

This item is very easy to use. You can determine various problems with your car simply by measuring the amount of heat. I used this item to determine which side of vehicle had a wheel bearing problem, though it was audibly heard from both sides and felt at floor pan of vehilce. I went around all four wheels and the hotest wheel had the bearing problem.

This is an outstanding piece of equipment. It is perfect for measuring the metal temp on sprayed surfaces. Magnetic bottom so it can stand without falling is a nice feature.

Reads 8 F degrees high, but consistent

I bought this unit to use the dual laser dots as an aid to knowing exactly what it is I am measuring, when wanting a reading on RC craft motors and on the ICs of electronic circuit boards. Compared to my Raytek Mini Temp MT, which has no laser at all, this new ST25 reads 8F degrees high, but it is consistent over a range of items from 40 to 180F that I tested. I presume the MT model is right, or at least close, because I can scan most any item in my home office and the surface will usually match the temperature in the room, about 72F at the time of testing. The ST25 would show the same item at 80F. I know it isn't 80 in here, because I would be sweltering if it were.Although I am disappointed that the device is apparently incorrectly calibrated, I can subtract the 8 degrees and it then seems to correctly measure everything I pointed it at. A calibration adjustment for the user would make a nice addition to this model.The ST25 seems solidly built and I was surprised by how much larger in size it is compared to the mini MT. It comes in a nice molded carry case with a manual that describes several items that can be tested, including such things as rear window defroster traces and other automotive items. The manual is in several languages.

Better Sleep for Everyone

UPDATE: It is now March of 2013 and we are still using this product. I liked it so much that I actually ordered another one as we have had another child. The one that I purchased this time around is NOT the same quality as the previous one. In fact, I am very disappointed with it. The zipper was replaced with cheap plastic snaps and the pad is not nearly as long. I was expecting to get the same product that I had ordered before. Compared to the previous version, this one gets only 2 stars in my book. I am going to try to contact customer service.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This co-sleeping pad has been a lifesaver (or more likely marriage saver!) for my family.I have a very restless 8 month old. He starts off in his crib in a deep sleep and about 5 hours later starts rolling around. He gets his legs and arms through the bars and cries and then scoots up and hits his head. My husband was working away from home for awhile so I would just bring the baby in bed with me at this point. When the hubby came back home, I was worried that he would roll or otherwise hurt the baby because he is also a restless sleeper who tends to throw his arms out to the side. However, I did not want to put baby on my other side for fear that he would roll off of the bed. So some totally sleepless nights ensued during which I tried to settle baby in his crib with no success. Hubby was upset with no sleep for work, and I was upset because no sleep for me and baby kept hurting himself on the bars of the crib.Something had to give. I had looked at this co-sleeper pad a long time ago and thought it was way too expensive. However, what is the cost of having no sleep? Hubby drives long distances to work and was having trouble staying alert. The cheaper "anti-roll" bed devices were just bed rails or foam that slipped under your sheet. Neither seemed like a good option for us. A bedrail would be the crib all over again and the foam just looked like it would not fit nicely under my already snug sheets. So we talked it over and decided to order it.First night after we got it, we all slept better. When baby wakes, he comes into bed and I don't have to worry about hubby hurting him or baby rolling off of the bed. It makes night time nursing a breeze and the cotton absorbs spills wonderfully so there is no need to change the whole bed. I find it very soft and comfortable, it is however, slightly hotter than a regular sheet for summer use, but not to the point where I would stop using it. There is plenty of room for me, hubby and baby, however, we do have a king size bed.Overall, it was definitely worth the price and I would definitely recommend it to other parents. I am so thankful that this worked for us!!UPDATE: It is now the end of October 2011 and we are still using this co-sleeper. The fabric is still as soft as it was when I purchased it despite many washings. The padding in the roll is still fluffy, I just move it whenever I wash the pad so that it is not always getting flattened out. This product has been well worth the cost and the quality is wonderful. I honesty don't know what we would have done without it! 2 thumbs still way up for this co-sleeper.

Doesn't stay put

The concept is great but needs to be improved upon. The part that you lay on constantly wrinkles, bunches up, and shifts around b/c there's nothing keeping it laying flat while your bodies are naturally moving on top of it. It gets realy uncomfortable having the material bunch up under you and you need to keep fixing and adjusting it. I'm disappointed since there are very few of these types of items available for bedsharing with our infant. I wish the sheet part was longer so that it could be tucked under the other side of the mattress or something - that way, maybe it would stay put.

Really Happy With It.

I did a lot of research into different co-sleeping options and decided not to get this product with my first son due to the price. I ended up not co-sleeping for very long with him because we have a raised bed and I had a lot of fears that something would happen to him. In hindsight, I regretted not co-sleeping (it was so much harder having him sleeping in crib). 2 years later when I got pregnant again, I redid all the research of co-sleeping options and found myself back at the Humanity Family Bed. I'm so happy I went with this product. Co-sleeping has been amazing and the Humanity Co-Sleeper is perfect. I don't have any fears that he will slip out or it will move (like some of the other co-sleeping options). I read a review that the fabric was rough, but I find it very soft and quite pleasant to sleep on. I haven't had any problems with it bunching, as another review said. It is very easy to pull off and wash or roll up and place at the bottom of the bed or top. We have a large bed, so the size of the pillow is perfect. What I've spent in money, I've saved in peace of mind and extra hours of comfortable co-sleeping. I would highly recommend it as an option (although also recommend shopping around for prices).

Useful Advanced Tool for Baking and Broiling

How hot is that pizza stone? How cold is the meat in your freezer? Is your frying pan ready to sizzle that steak? Have you got more curiosity and money than sense? This tool is for you! After looking at a range of infrared thermometers I ordered the Raytek ST20XB. It works very well for measuring surface temperatures with great accuracy, has a clear read out and a visible red laser dot to show the spot being measured, scans a surface and quickly reads the (varying) temperatures in each spot and is comfortable to hold and to use. I have used it to read surface temperatures at distances ranging from inches to yards with no problems. More expensive units have features that are not usable by bakers and cooks, like dual laser dots to pinpoint the boundaries of measured areas or the ability to read super hot and super cold surface temperatures; less expensive units may not read with the accuracy a baker needs. This model has proven to be "just right" for me. My pizza crusts and rustic breads bake better when the stone (not just the oven air)is up to temperature and meats sear more evenly when the pan is given time to spread heat more evenly. I have been most surprised to find that even heavy cast iron pans take longer to reach an even temperature than I realized, with spots being more than 20 degrees cooler in different places across the surface. Persons who want to "kick it up a notch" on baking and broiling will use this tool.

Very Good Item

The Raytek ST20 is a very useful tool. I use it for a variety of jobs related to the pipeline industry. It seems to be very accurate and is easy to use. Delivery was excellent also.
