Boot/Sock dryer gets workout...

This product is great. I've used this on two separate occassions. Fist, in a soccer torunament and second, on a hunting trip. In the soccer tournament, it was a very wet and cold weekend in October. This meant that we had multiple games spread across two days. I coach the team. and two of my boys are on the same team. I ensured that immediately after each game that both their socks and shoes were placed on this unit, one after the other. They did have an extra pair of colored socks (they had to be purple in color to match the team's colors, so we were limited). We also had games within an hour of each other, so we were limited on time. This boot dryer has a lengthy timer, that will turn itself off. By the time it does this, you can expect the socks and boots to be dry (completely dry but not overly dry). We used the heat option only. There is a cool dry option that you might want to use when you have a longer time to recover your wet items. Or, you could use the cool option on more sensitive materials. The timer runs about an hour or so. You can set it to run less, if desired. This product worked almost non-stop for two separate weekends. During our hunting trip, there were three of us hunting. I stepped in an unexpected non-shallow part of a creek. This boot dryer worked effectively on a completely wet interior of my Thinsulate boots. We used this dryer on gloves, socks and boots to keep them all dry. Comfort makes your life much better when outdoors. Directions recommend that you use this product after every use of your boots, so that the life of your boots or shoes is extended (so you are not putting your foot in a partially dry item, which may wear it out faster). Overall we used this dryer on gloves, hats, socks, cleats, boots & shinguards. It gives off enough heat to dry other items that you can hang over top of this unit (heat rises!). The only thing that I wanted changed, was to have more than one of these units for the rest of my team to use. Don't bother with a cheap unit. I had one, used it on two separate ocassions, and it stopped working on the second attempt. It only had a cool option on it, and an el-cheapo DC motor. I think I paid $15 for that...what a waste! This boot dryer runs on AC. We had ours in a camper running on a generator. Use a DC converter if you don't have a generator (but watch your battery power closely).
