"OKUMA" Surf Rods

These are beautifully crafted and durable. Great action and easy to handle. I totally enjoy using these rods so much so that I own five of them, 8ft, 9ft, 10ft, 11ft, & 12ft. Also their spinning reels are really nice. Other than my collection of PENN rods & reels the OKUMA is my next favorite to use. They are very reasonably priced but you have to shop around which is so much easier to do on line.

You can launch the heck out of this thing. I have never been able to cast like I can with this pole coupled to my Penn Battle. I can launch this thing so hard that it will actually start cutting into my index finger with the tension from the line.

Great chunking rod

I bought this rod over a year ago and decided to add my 2 cents seeing that this item hasn't gotten many reviews. I'm a college student with a budget and wanted to find reputable and dependable gear at a great price. Overall, I have to say that I am very impressed with this rod. This rod features a strong backbone to haul in heavy catches (I dragged in a 70 lb butterfly ray with this thing!), fuji guides that'll reduce the wear of your fishing line and allow for smooth castings, a nice cork handle for a firm grip, and a solid rubber butt which can be used as a walking stick. The Solaris also has a fairly neutral aesthetic (black, with gold and white threading) which will work with just about any reel. The only thing I'd want to point out to potential buyers is that the Solaris is mainly a chunking rod. The rod is slightly heavier than most rods and won't be very practical if you're into throwing spoons or things that require a constant cast and retrieve. My only regret is not spending a little more and pairing this rod up with a Penn Battle and not a Fierce, but thats a completely different issue. Nonetheless, if you're into chunking and are looking to buy your first rod and reel I'd definitely suggest this rod. It is sure to last you a while.

This Iodine gel is perfect for slow healing wounds or infected wounds. The iodine provides disinfection and the gel absorbs exudate if present. It works better if it is applied twice daily with proper cleansing

pentax 10x50 DCF ED bino

If you are looking for top notch binoculars, you are likely considering the big three, Zeiss, Swarovski, Leica and possibly some others. I have used my Zeiss 10X40's since 1993 and decided to pass these bino's along to my son. I was fortunate enought to pick up a pair of Pentax DCF ED bino's. All I can say is that to me they are absolutely on par with the elite three..but for about half the cost. Test them side by side yourself and there is no way that any miniscule differenc is worth twice the money. I am blown away with the quality of these bino's for the money!

An excllent finish whetstone, if it's what you need

The super-fine 6000 grit is perfect for putting a mirror-like finish on your Japanese style knife. The resulting finish is smooth enough to let sticky items like tomato slices pull cleanly away. The 1000 grit is a typical finish grit in many sharpening kits. Therefore this is not all that you need to sharpen your knives. You also need a rougher, perhaps 600 or so, grit for the first sharpening steps. (Unless you follow sushi chef fashion and sharpen every single evening!) The Shun logo adds to the price of this item, if you just need a whetstone, they're available at a variety of price points...

Amazing

The first knife I used this on was my Kershaw pocket knife with a CPM-D2 hardened steel blade. I've had the knife for awhile and the blade finally wore down enough to where I needed to sharpen it. Hard steel is great for holding an edge for a long time, but it is a royal PIA to sharpen effectively. I tried all the typical knife sharpening gadgets and none of them worked worth a crap. This water stone worked amazingly well. I will say that the 1000 grit side is probably too fine to get rid of any nicks or blade imperfections, but my blade was in good shape, just dull. I used the technique according to the directions where I pushed and then pulled at the appropriate angles. I worked each edge back and forth for quite awhile, slowly but surely bringing back the edge. The 6000 grit finishing side brought out a polished shine to the edge that is far better than it came from the factory. It is also sharper than it was from the factory without a doubt. It took a lot of work on the stone, but that is understandable considering the grit and the hardness of the steel I was working with.I also used it on our Global Santoku knife and it is now back to being as sharp as it was brand new.I wish I would have saved all my money on all the typical knife sharpening gadgets and bought this from the beginning. It may not be as convenient and requires soaking in water and some cleanup, but the results are well worth it.

Not for Everyday Use

We purchased this chess set for my son who really enjoys playing chess as well as studyigng the Civil War. What could be better than both combined? Unfortunately within a few days of use literaly half the pieces had broken. The pieces are not weighted correctly so any simple nudge will knock them over. They then fall on the hard, heavy board and simply break. The Queen's head, the King's arm, the Knights' / horses' feet. Literally half of the peices have been glued back together, and this in just a few days of use. So no, this is not a chess set for everyday use. And, as it is not even that pretty, not for collecting either. You would do better to look elsewhere.

It is exactly what you pay for

If you are buying a theme chess set to use, then you are getting what you paid for. However if you collect themed chess sets you will be disappointed, spend the extra bucks. I bought or rather Santa delivered this for my ten year old son to help keep his interest up in playing chess; since he had become rather fascinated with American history during the Civil War period this allowed me to support his interest in History yet encouraging continued development of his concentration, and problem solving skills while having fun doing it. While the board itself weigh's several pounds and is awkward to move around we have enjoyed it.

Save your money for something better

This is exactly a toy made from some cheap plastic material from China - the pieces and board come in a Styrofoam box that was crumbling when I opened the UPS box. It does not even have a regular box to store the board and pieces. Save your money for a better set if you are a civil war buff. This is not acceptable and I will be returning it. I am glad I got it at a cheap price and not the $79.99 price that I have seen it at. Still when it comes to craftsmanship this chess set loses. The pieces look horrible and are not well made. But you get what you pay for.

What a Ladder

Our framing crew installed this ladder during the construction of our new addition. I'm a big guy (325 lbs), and this ladder doesn't even flinch when I use it. I was a little hesitant ordering this from Amazon. However, I now know it was the correct decision. Our local big box home improvement stores do not carry anything close to this large and, in my opinion, this well constructed. Thanks Louisville for building a quality ladder! Incidentally, this ladder arrived undamaged and ready to install.

A big opening like this is hard to find in a attic ladder, but the bottom of the door is too cheap and practially falls apart. Plus the ladder is hard to bring get off, but it is very sturdy when you go up and down it.

Great ladder at a great price.

I have installed and used many attic ladders in my homes over the years and Louisville has made the list more often than not. I do detailed research on everything I buy online. You can get fancier and stronger but be prepared to spend double or triple the cost of a Louisville ladder. The L305P was easy to install, though heavy due to its size. It took multiple cuts on the legs to get them to the right length. Have a straight edge at least 6 to 8 feet long to align the stairs as you cut the legs in every shorter cuts. The hinges were very sticky so you will need to lubricate them with WD40 or light oil. The treads are not as deep as I'd like to see even though they are about six inches wide, wider than other attic ladders. I have used the ladder now for a month and am very pleased with the purchase.

Comfortable cushion for the price

This is the second time we have purchased this cushion. It greatly improves the comfort of my 85 year old mother in her wheelchair. The only issue we have experienced is the covering needs to be replaced more often than perhaps it should but a new cushion on an annual basis is probably a good thing for comfort anyway. I will purchase this item again when needed and a would recommend to a friend.

Great heavy duty ladder: horrible packaging

Don't pass this one up just because it's not aluminum! This thing is pretty solid and should last longer than you own your house. Before you buy this, check that your rafters are 16"-on-center: the rough opening is 30" wide X 60" long. If you're an ambitious do-it-yourselfer, this should be a pretty easy project.Ideally, you should have 2 people to get it installed (one in the attic, one down below). However, you can probably do it by yourself if you have a second way out of your attic. My technique was to first shove the 75lb ladder unit up into the attic. Then I climbed down and screwed 2X6's across the underside of the rough opening. I went back into the attic and slid the ladder over until it dropped down into the rough opening (and was resting on the 2X6's). At this point, it's perfectly flush with the ceiling below so I shimmed it square and screwed the frame into the rough opening. Last I pull off the 2X6 blocking and finish the install as directed. Bam. Done.One thing to be aware of, this unit has zero insulation. I put mine in the garage and didn't care, but if you're installing this inside your living area, you'll need to make arrangements to insulate it. Also, it has no fire rating ... the bottom skin is 1/8" plywood. I'm a bit paranoid so I'm going to secure some 5/8" drywall onto the underside.My huge complaint, and the reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 ... their packaging is horrible!! Mine was shipped via UPS and it arrived looking like it got hit by a train. The thin cardboard was crushed right down to the product. UPS actually splintered the lowest tread on the ladder and I had to glue that part back together (I didn't discover that damage till I was in the last step of installation). Secondly, the hardware & instruction baggie was taped to the OUTSIDE of the box!?!?! It's nothing short of a miracle those parts arrived with the ladder.

Louisville Attic Ladder is First Class

Heavy duty ladder with large opening, sturdy wide steps, heavy duty hinges on inside & outside of the wood ladder sections. Bought the first one 5 years ago and use it ALL THE TIME in my garage. Still looks and functions like new. The high weight capacity is put to use in the garage. I searched out for this second one which is going in my workshop attic.It's not light so get some help when intalling it.

The merchandizer gave me fits when without notice they declined to ship product because my address did not fit their format. An Amazon.com represenative very professionally helped me reorder and saved me money doing so.Packaged in a flimsy box with no support the frame arrived more like a trapazoid then a rectangle and more then one scar on the crushed edges of the door will have to be covered with a false front.Stouter then the other attic ladder in another room which came with the house I will give the manufacture an "A" for this product.

Nice and uniqe.

It is substantial and very unique. It is larger than I expected but I still like it.

Back and Neck Saver

Holy cow, this is a wonderful chair. I've been struggling with dinky office chairs for years because I felt bad spending more than $100 on a chair for my home office (which is my only office, so I sit here a lot). I finally wised up and realized that I was suffering from too many muscle aches and from poor posture due to my chair, and that even the most ergonomic of keyboards, mice and monitor setups would fully address the problem.Love the adjustment possibilities, the lumbar support, the front seat adjustment that makes sure the seat supports your thighs without leaving your knees in the air, the ventilated mesh, and of course the design. It is a pleasure to see this chair in my office and work with its support.I also like that its almost entirely made of recyclable materials (check out the Herman Miller site for info at [...]), and that the HM site has little Quicktime videos to show you how to adjust the chair. Things like that really count to me by showing that the company is responsive to its customers and their needs.I highly recommend saving up for this chair if you can. I consider it a long-term investment with multiple personal and productivity benefits.p.s. Also got fast shipping from the seller. Be forewarned, though: I had to call my credit card company to authorize the payment after they rejected it for being a "suspicious" purchase (online, high price).
