Warranty concern - UPDATE!!

I actually liked the drill when I bought it. Great feel and very adequate power. It has some nice little features like a built in level and magnetic screw holder. Then it just quit 4 months after my purchase, and the fun began. After a very long hold, the service department sent me to a factory number, another long hold, the factory sent me back to the service center, another long hold, then I was told to fax or email my receipt to someone at positecusa. When I asked for a reference number or a service ticket number, I was told that it wasn't necessary. I emailed a copy of the receipt, but got no acknowledgement. So, I might be receiving a replacement, but I suspect I'm in store for more time on the phone, "can you hold please?".Update -- the customer service rep shipped my replacement drill as promised. I guess I just didn't have faith. This bumps my rating from 1 to 4 stars. They still lose one for the time I spent on hold.

I don't know what drill everybody else is reviewing, but mine couldn't drive more than about 10 2 1/2 inch screws into plywood and 2 by 4 framing before it ran out of power.

This is a great gift and a must have for the wedding day.

This bag beats ones expectations. The bag is quality made, something that can be reused when the product inside is gone. All the items you don't think you'll need, you do and they're in the bag! All the products were quality name brands and came in very handy, especially when you accidently rip the hem of your dress with your heels... oops! I highly recommend this for any bride, it sure takes some of the stress out. This was a great shower gift. Well packaged and fast to ship.

Top Quality, Task Specific

My previous hammer drill finally died, so I turned to Rockwell based on my experience with a previous Rockwell drill I obtained almost 40 years ago - used. That drill finally gave up the ghost a while back (the commutator contacts finally wore out). I fully expect the RK3137K to give similar service (which means it will likely outlast me).This is a truly heavy-duty, professional piece of equipment, built of quality material for long-lasting service. It is definitely optimized for use as a hammer drill -- the drill and cord weigh in at about 5-1/2 pounds, without the handle, depth rod, or bit. If you have thoughts of using this as a general purpose utility drill as well as a hammer drill, don't plan on a lot of one-handed use, unless you've been hanging out at the gym.Ergonomically, the unit is well designed and fits the hand well. The rubberized rear grip is a nice touch. The unit comes with its own carrying case that contains the drill, a removable handle, a depth gauge rod, and a set of six masonry bits.Controls include a variable-speed trigger switch, a switch lock (for full speed only), a forward/reverse toggle switch just above the trigger, and a rotary mode/hammer mode switch on the top of the unit. It provides plenty of power and torque. The attached 10 foot (ungrounded) cord is convenient and means you can dispense with an extension cord in some cases. The 1/2" keyed chuck works smoothly and grips well.Naturally, performance is as much dependent on the masonry bit as on the drill itself, but this unit, matched with a good bit, certainly performs at the top of the scale.I have only two small quibbles with the RK3137K. First, I'm disappointed with the chuck key retainer that is molded into the power cord strain relief. Technically, it works OK when you get used to it, but I have doubts that it will last very long, given the fact that you have to force the key into and out of it every time you want to use it. Also, if you drop the key, it's gone -- you have to climb down from the ladder or scratch around in the grass to find it. Plus, it is very easy to get distracted, set the key down somewhere and then wander on to the next work site -- only to scratch your head and wonder where you left the key. Some designer's great idea, I'm sure, but a standard cord-mounted key retainer would have been a better choice. Fortunately, it is easily remedied with one from the hardware store.Secondly, although the forward/reverse switch is conventionally located above the trigger switch, it seems prone to accidental engagement for whatever reason. It may have to do with the weight of the drill, or perhaps the size of the tab on the switch. At any rate, I have had other drills with this layout but haven't experienced this on them.As for enhancements -- this drill pretty much covers all the bases, but one thing I would like to see added is a mechanism for enabling a low-speed/high torque mode. But again, it is optimized for use as a hammer drill, and I am very happy with it, and would recommend it to anyone.

Worked so much better and faster than a standard drill for concrete. I really like having the adjustable handle and depth gauge too. It's reasonably comfortable to use and seems quite durable, although only time will tell.

I purchgase this hammer drill to drill through an 8" concrete wall. The drill did it's job fast and easy after I purchased a quality 12" Titanium concrete drill bit. This drill is very strong and you must use a quality bit or your standard bits will be destroyed.Great Product and Great Price

First rate angled nailer

Hitachi NT65MA3 15 Gauge Angled Finish Nailer- Third generation of this tool; everything works well.- Fires in one of two ways; select via a control knob: ... Single Actuation: press the nose against the wood & pull the trigger to drive the nail, or, pull the trigger first, then press nose against the wood to drive the nail. Either way, nailing again isn't possible until the trigger is released and pulled again. ... Contact Actuation: in addition to the above, if the trigger is held back, the tool will fire a nail each time the nose is pressed against the wood.- Nicely balanced and comfortable to use. Weighs only 4.2 lbs., within a few ounces of the lightest nailer.- The 34 degree tool angle is better than 24 degree nailers; easier to do corners.- Simple to load nails. Feed into the slot and slide the spring-loaded pusher to the right. A new favorite finish nailer!

Our company uses finish nailers daily and we use them in all species of woods including Oak, Maple, Pine, Brazillian Cherry, Teak, and other very hard exotics. Our nailers get hard use so I look for the ones that will hold up long term. My previous favorite was the Dewalt 2 1/2 finish nailer (see my other reviews) which is a great finish nailer but I believe that some of the later Dewalt guns have been lacking in quality from the 1st release. I bought 2 of these Hitachi NT65MA3 finish nailers to try out and all of our crews have loved using them and I haven't had the 1st problem with them after 1 year. They set the nails consistently in dense hardwoods and have a great feel to them. I believe I may have found my new favorite finish nailer!I might note that I have not tried the Milwaukee or Makita finsh nailer, but am comparing to the Bostich, Porter Cable, Senco, and Dewalt models.I love the fact that I can change modes with the flick of a switch from sequential to bump fire. My Dewalt, Senco and Porter Cable nailers all require that I change out the trigger assembly. The 2 options of fire are: 1) sequential mode - the nailer fires one shot when the safety tip mechanism is pressed against the wood you are nailing and the trigger is pulled and will only fire again when the safety tip mechanism has been depressed against the wood and the trigger is then pulled again. 2) bump mode - pull the trigger and hold it and the nailer fires every time you depress the safety tip mechanism into the wood you are nailing (as long as you hold in the trigger). I keep all of our nailers in this mode and do not feel it is a safety concern since firstly, the trigger must be pulled and secondly the safety tip mechanism must be depressed in the wood you are nailing before it will fire. There is an element of danger to most anything we do in life.

Excellent Nailer, Good Value

The other reviews have done a good job describing this nailer, so I'll just at my $0.02:I have several Porter Cable nailers, which are fine. This nailer is far superior. It is so light that I thought the case was empty when I opened the box. There is almost no recoil despite the size of the 15 gauge, 2.5" nails I'm using. The option of firing multiple nails on one trigger pull is nice, but I don't think I'd use in much on a finish gun. The depth adjustment allows a great range of adjustment, important on a finish nail gun.I've been using this gun with stainless steel nails on some redwood projects in the yard, and am extremely satisfied with it. The previous model of this gun, which I think is virtually identical, received excellent reviews as well. I can't imagine you'd be disappointed with this nailer. I'll steer towards Hitachi nailers in the future- this one is very impressive.

the best workhorse - pure love

I have this knife and Shun 10". I prefer the MAC for everyday tasks. It the perfect size and balance. This model is a bit more durable than the MAC mth-80 model. Remember, there is always a tradeoff between sharpness and durability. If you want the sharpest knife, go with the mth-80, but don't cry when you chip the blade. The sharper the knife, usually the harder the metal, hence it is more brittle, but will retain an edge longer.Of course, you can avoid chips by using the correct tool for the right job, but most people only learn this after they have chipped a couple nice knives. My Shun is definitely a harder and sharper material than my Mac, but it also has a couple large chips from friends.If I could only take one tool from my kitchen on a desert island, it would be this knife!My mom has had her MAC knife for over 25 years, it is beat, but still her favorite knife.

THE best knife! Use it for just about everything, except boning. Wound up buying another MAC knife for paring, and will purchase one for cutting chicken, etc., because I love THIS knife SO much!! Stays sharp for what seems like FOREVER and cuts like butter. Absolutely worth every penny. Just remember to wash immediately after using - and never, EVER put it in the dishwasher. You'll definitely be pleased you bought it!!

I have been cooking most of my life. I have purchased numerous quality knives at various prices. All the gimmicks, all the "best", all the Top Chef recommended. $600 plus for one. And what knife has lasted and been used over and over with minimum care and attention? This one. A quick honing before and after each use, and I can run down a rack of ribs, slice a tomato, chop and onion, carrot celery and herbs, and turn a pork tenderloin into medallions without ever changing the knife while prepping. While serving I can use it just as easily to carve a bird or roast beef or pork.When I guest cook or cater this is one of three knives I never forget. The other two are just about any bread knife or paring knife.Buy it, take care f it, and it will take care of your kitchen needs.

Automatic Watch with a low price tag

This is about the cheapest automatic (not quartz, Amazon, if you ever see this please correct it) one can get in the market. The movement is ETA 2842 and there is a famous review of it online regarding its accuracy. Mine on the wrist is about 10 seconds slower every day but at $100 I'll live with that. To my knowledge all swatch automatics use this movement so a newly released one wouldn't be better than this old boy in terms of timing.The wrist band is slightly small for me since I am using the second to last buckle and the extended part isn't long enough to go through the leather ring. (my wrist measures 17.5cm.)The dial cover is not scratch-resist at all (as expected on a swatch) and thus bad news for me because I tend to not take good care of my watch. The fact that fluorescence dye on hour/minute hand and hour marks are painted slim/small also earns my heart. They are thus not distracting yet still usable in certain circumstance.

I have not installed these on my 460 powered Capri yet but the quality looks really good. Some people have complained about steering shaft issues and clearance with this design. I will know shortly when I mock these up.Looks though that Hooker Super Comps are as good as ever.
