Strong but light as a feather
By deer_hunter
A buddy of mine introduced me to the greatness of Al Mar knives, and I'm glad he did. There are some models with fancier (and more expensive) handles, but I wanted this particular model for its lightness. Look at the respective weights on the specs; the bone and cocobolo wood handle models are considerably heavier. I carry mine all the time using the handy pocket clip, and I don't even realize it's there. If you want a fancy pocketknife to own, get one with a fancier handle. If you want one to carry and use, the ultralight black linen micarta is the way to go. One word of caution: this knife is SHARP. I cut myself several times with it because even the slightest contact with your skin will cut you. I have learned to be very careful with it. Yes, this knife is more expensive than many other pocketknives, but in my opinion worth it.

The Best
By Knife Knut
This is my second favorite knife I own, Chris Reeve Sebenza being my fav. This ultra light defense knife if amazing. One of the sharpest out of the box knives I've ever bought, and it holds it's edge. Do not be discouraged when you see it is AUS8 steel because it keeps it's edge just as good as VG10. I've owned mine for about two years and it is usually always in my EDC rotation. However, the blade shape is not the best for EDC use but I use it mainly as a defense knife. The Al Mar Eagle is slick. No jimping, a small index finger choil, and a slick handle, but this knife means business. I would not put jimping on this knife because I love the sleek look, and the small finger choil isn't that bad. Large blade and light weight. I would recommend this knife to any knife enthusiast. Well worth the money.
