The Ins and Outs
The 180-Watt ACX1800 features two channels: one with a single 1/4" input jack and a second with a 1/4" input and XLR input, making it the ideal amp for a one-person show with an acoustic guitar and a mic for vocals. Just turn the GAIN dial to determine the levels of each channel.
On the back panel, you will find a stereo RCA input for plugging in a CD player. If you're just getting started as a guitarist, this is a great way to play along with your favorite tunes. Or, if you're playing an extended set, you can use the CD IN section to provide music during breaks. Two XLR LINE OUT jacks send a signal directly to a mixing board, and you can connect an external effects processor via the 1/4" INST INS SEND and RETURN jacks.

Switch it Up
The ACX1800 features myriad audio solutions at the touch of a button. Both channels feature a 7-band EQ equipped with BEHRINGER's FBQ Feedback Detection System for instant feedback elimination. You also get a 24-bit FX processor per channel featuring 16 incredibly presets such as reverb and delay. We also include a footswitch for remote activation of the effects. The instrument channel (on the left) features a PHASE switch that reverses the phase, a function that can eliminate the feedback common in acoustic guitar pickups. Both channels feature a TUNER switch that silences the speaker so you can tune your guitar via an external tuning device, which can be connected directly to the amp via the TUNER OUT 1/4" jack on the back panel.

Acoustic Amps?

Big name amps? Don't be ripped off by big names you pay for. This is a great amp. It has two effects processors, one in each channel. Unlike big name amps it does not have to share effects with another channel. The reason I gave it 5 stars is the price is right for what you get. Very clean sounding little amp. Great for vocals and guitars. Only fault I see, (and not a fault if you don't treat it rough) is not having real tough material or metal knobs. Great sounding speakers. I'm going to get another like but the larger amp.

The special effects are terrific and can be applied individually to the Mic and Instrument input. Bought it just to fool around at home. Kids are having a blast singing karioke. Glad I bought the 1800 - plenty of power for our great room. The manual is excellent. This is a 50 pound amp! I'm gonna put wheels on the bottom so I can move it around easier.

Not quite what I expected...a mixed review.

Guess I'm old school - I thought more watts still meant more volume. I have a little 30W 2-channel amp at home and I wanted something more powerful to use at church. I figured with this 180W 2-channel I ought to be able to really crank it up compared to the old amp. But not so. I don't know where all those watts are going, but they certainly aren't making it to the speakers. I was very disappointed...until I actually tried it out at our small church (about 4000sf). It did just fine. I ran a Carvin acoustic through one channel and a Les Paul through the other channel. Both sounded fine and the volume was more than adequate. The acoustic was clean and crisp, very nice tone. The LP seemed a little muddy, but I think that's just a matter of tweaking it in. If you're looking for an amp to use in small venues, this might be a pretty good choice. Especially given the reasonable price and the flexibility that you have with this amp. As soon as my new mic arrives I'm going to see how it performs with vocals. And I'm eager to patch it into the mixer at church to see how it performs that way. Bottom line - a decent little amp with lot's of nifty features, but don't be fooled (as I was) by the 180W rating. This amp is suitable for small venues and home use only.
