Works, no shutoff switch

The unit seems to work, but unlike other pool cover pumps, it doesn't have an automatic switch to turn off when its job is done. Nor is it allowed to run dry according to spec.

Has no automatic shut-off !

This is a great pump with one major flaw - it does not have an automatic shut-off. The instructions say, "Do not let unit operate dry. It is designed to be cooled by pumping fluid". Who wants a pool cover pump that does not shut off by itself? Are you going to remember to shut it off once the water is off your pool cover?
