5Great SIP phone if you know how to set up and use one.
By The Count
this is a fully featured and complex (like in really pretty complex) SIP phone with 6 lines. YOU CANNOT USE THIS PHONE WITH A REGULAR PHONE LINE! it only has 2 ethernet ports that connect it to your network, thats it. in order to use this you really need to understand VOIP or have exact. detailed instructions on how to configure it with a VOIP service provider like Broadvoice. but assuming you have the background needed its great, i currently have several VOIP services programmed in with DIDs, for example, one line is an austrian phone number that rings on my 962 here in north carolina. there are so many things you can do, but its not for the faint of heart. oh yes, and voip need good broadband with a decent upload speed. you need to figure about 100k per line, so if you have 3 conversations at the same times you would need at least 300Kbps upload. most people'd broadband have between 250 and 380kbps upload speed. a disadvantage of a SIP phone versus a sip adapter is that with the adapter you can hook up any regular phone (cordless, whatever), an answering machine and even patch it into your home phone wiring if needed. cant do any of that with a SIP phone.

4Great Phone! BAD customer service!
By Herman Nelson
I've had a SPA962 since they hit the market. It was an upgrade from a SPA941. I love the phone! It has 6 lines that can be independently configured to communicate with various SIP service providers. It also has a color LCD display (with a TFTP server, screen background changes are easy). Works great on Asterisk servers! Easy configuration via a web browser. Can be configured to receive pushed configuration files from a asterisk server. Has memory to store 100 phone numbers with names tagged to specified ring tones. Has the capability to install a SPA932 to add additional lines. The SPA962 is POE ready, if you're not using POE, order the power supply. Call quality is superb, supports G711a, G711u, G726-16~40, G729a, G723 codecs.I'm giving the phone 4 stars instead of 5 because of Cisco's dumbass customer service. This was originally a Linksys product, Cisco bought out Linksys. Linksys had great customer support for manuals, tech specs, software and firmware updates for their products. After Cisco took over, firmware updates became a problem. Suddenly, you're required to have a Cisco account and service agreement to get access to the updates. I called Cisco and got the run around and was told to pay up if I wanted to update my phone. I checked as of two days ago, they have since changed their assine policy of requiring a paid service agreement for the SPA962 updates.Would I buy another one? Even with Cisco being stupid, I would buy again.

4Great phone/ BAD speakerphone... Unusable for SP calls so far..
By J. Scott
The phone works great & is loaded with all of the feaures you could possibly want with an IP phone..Just 1 thing I would change about it.. The speakerphone.. :( Horrible echo and other noises prevent me from using that 1 feature that I would look for in a desk phone.Otherwise, it has every feature that you can imagine!
