Product Description
This double-barrel / double-trigger flintlock pistol features two embossed antiqued gold tone barrels. It also features a wooden stock with detailed carvings. The original piece was manufactured in 1806 in Saint Etienne by Gribeauval. It was part of Napoleon's private collection. The metal parts are highly decorated and made of metal with an antiqued gold tone or antiqued silver tone finish. The action works just like the original. The hammers cock, and the triggers releases the hammers. By having a double barrel, the user could preload two shots in advance and have a great advantage. The length is approximately 14 inches.

A very nice piece!!

I'm impressed with this piece. I don't know if it has a historical antecedent. It probably does, but even if it doesn't you'll still impress your shipmates! Both barrels work. There is a half cock position and full cock from which it can be fired. Bad choice of words. Cock it, pull the trigger, it goes click. You can't fire it. The gun has a nice heft and very good detail in the carvings both in the wood and on metal. A very nice piece.

Ultimately, I have a fondness for ancient weaponry and though I'm more fond of edged weapons, I confees I do have a soft spot for early firearms. This pistol, like a few others that I own is well made, realistically balanced, and very nicely made. There's woodworking and intricate carving on the barrels and butt-plate that make it look very fashionable. If antiquated weaponry is your interest, this one is for you.
