Does what the parts guy at the RV dealer said it wouldn't.
By barrywood7
I recently bought a small travel trailer and wanted a generator for dry camping. I looked at the competition and finally decided on the Yamaha. I picked up the trailer before the generator arrived. I bought a few small items at the dealer and looked at the generators they had in stock. I guess the salesman thought I was in the market so he started up a conversation. I told him I ordered a Yamaha EF 3000iSEB. We started talking about watts and what I would be able to power with it. He told me 2800 watts wouldn't run the 13000 btu ac. I told him it also has a battery for an added boost. He'd never heard of it and still said it wouldn't be enough to start the air conditioner. Long story short he didn't know what he was talking about. It started and ran the A/C no problem.Overall it is a great little generator. I couldn't load it onto my truck without a friends help so I may try to find some type of ramp to use.

Nice product

This unit was purchased to run my 30 amp trailer when I dry camp. It works well. A person only needs this capacity if the A/C is used. Since I use the A/C so little hindsight a 2000 would have done the job at half the cost and weight. But this is a nice product, just a bit big and heavy for my use.

Great machine!
By RTinDC
This is one sweet generator. Mine is almost 4 years old and has been flawless. Used about 25 weekends a year, including continuously for air conditioning during summer months. Routine simple maintenance and oil changes only. No problem starting and running a 1600 btu air conditioner on a houseboat. Very quiet and smooth. The engine speed increases with demand, but at low output is almost at an idle. Just now need to replace the 12v start and boost battery. Found a replacement online for $50 with shipping. Only negative is a very small oil capacity and need for frequent - every 25hrs - oil changes. No problems operating in weather extremes.. Starts immediately with key or one easy pull (usually) on the starter rope. 5 stars for quality, value and performance. Well worth every penny. Bravo Yamaha,
