They don't make them anymore

Electric companies do not like resistive loads, because they dissipate power in the transmission lines. Hence we are condemned to use compact flourescent twisted lamps. They claim to last five years, but most of mine lasted only one. So, now I have a lifetime (I'm 73) supply of warm light bulbs that work over a wide temperature range.

With the environazi UN light bulb ban being rolled out all over the world, we must buy all the incandescents we can while they'll still let us.If you want to leave a light on all day long, CFLs have their uses when it comes to saving money. But if you need immediate bright light, you need incandescents. This 48-pack will last you a very long time.2012 is the last year you can buy 75W bulbs in the US, and 2013 will be the last year you can buy 60W and 40W.See this Washington Post article for info on the incandescent ban (and their replacements) listed by watt:(Amazon doesn't allow links in reviews, so go to the Washington Post's Web site and type in "Lights out for the incandescent bulb")As of the date of this comment, the 48-pack of 75W shown here is out of stock on Amazon, and there are two "Used & New" from Ace Hardware. If you missed the chance to buy these bulbs in bulk on Amazon, get them as soon you can.

These bulbs are still available in some stores, but they won't be for long if our illustrious leaders have their way. We use the curly compact fluorescent in the garage or in high places where changing a bulb is difficult, but in other places we want the warmth and white light of incandescent bulbs.This 48-pack of bulbs will last us for years, but the box is small enough to store out of the way in the garage. Get them while you can!
