5Fairly easy to install if you are patient and handy with tools.
By J. Barrington
I just purchased this grille (from another site) and installed it on my 06 mustang this past Saturday afternoon. The `Eleanor' grille looks to be made of the same type of plastic that the original grille is made from, and feels just about as durable. It also seems to have more openings within the honeycomb areas. The grille kit that I purchased comes with the grille (of course), wiring extenders, superwhite bulbs (the bright blue-ish white type), a tri-color pony grille emblem, and a small package of a few assorted parts. NOTE: I can't say if yours will come with the emblem, or the superwhite bulbs. The instructions state that you must remove the front bumper to remove the grille, but my son happened to recall seeing instructions on the web that states this will not be necessary if you take your time.I used two small flat head screwdrivers to pry-up the push-clips that hold the radiator top plastic cover. The push-clips are two pieces, so you will be gently prying up the center piece of the clip. Once you have up the center, you can cautiously pull out the entire clip. There are about six or eight of these clips (I can't remember which now). There are two hex head screws that need to be removed. Each one is located at the general area of the top-side of the radiator. If you look at the part of the body that is the divider between the headlight and the grille area and move upward until you see one of these hex head screws. It's the same location on the other side of the radiator area.Next, you be addressing the grille clips that hold the grille to the radiator/bumper area. This was the most difficult and nervous period. If you look around the `Eleanor'grille, you will see an example of those clips. Those same clips of the grille will go into the same radiator/bumper area once you remove the old grille. I had to use the longest Allen wrench that was as skinny as I could get. I used that wrench to help pry back the plastic safety clip of the body radiator area that helps hold in the grille clip. The amount of prying back that I had to do made me feel that I would break the plastic body safety clips at anytime, but I was surprised that I never did with any of them, although I can't say that you will not be as lucky as myself. Oh, you will have to do something like this even if you follow their instructions to remove the entire bumper. The two sides were the most difficult, and the bottom seemed to be the easiest. This part of the removal took about 30 minutes, but it sped up more as I learned how to handle these clip areas. This same area of your install may go faster, or slower.Once the grille is out and you have disconnected the light harnesses, swapping out the lights goes pretty easy, just make sure that you use the new screws that hold in the lights instead of the old ones. The old ones are a little longer and could penetrate the grille if you use them. The rest of the install is easy and you can follow the supplied instructions from this point forward, and reinstalling the grill is a breeze. Although I didn't time myself, I would have to guess the entire install took somewhere around an hour and a half. One comment about the supplied bulbs. 3dCarbon supplied my grille kit with super white bulbs that have been modified to be held in with a metal clip. They offer normal bulbs, but they have been modified too. I really am not crazy about the super white bulbs and would have opted for the normal if I had known. You'll have to purchase replacement bulbs from 3dCarbon for about $25 a piece since they modify them themselves, unless you have the patience to grind off plastic with something like a Dremel tool.

5Looks good.
By Mark L. Martalock
I bought this grille here...from JW Custom Accessories. The seller is excellent - shipping was fast, and when I contacted them about a missing part (the Pony emblem and mount) - their response was friendly, professional, and the part was in my hands two days later. Will definitely buy from them again. The grille itself is quite nice, the pony emblem looks good. The material feels like, or close to, stock. Very solid. My only issue is that the two foglight housings aren't quite even in the front (they point out very slightly), so the lights don't fit quite flush inside. The good news is that the lights themselves align properly. In reality - unless you're right up at the grille staring at the edges of the lights - you don't notice the slight offset in the housings. For installation - I took the instructions that came with the grille...read the instructions in the preceeding comment...and came up with a third method. I tried removing the bumper - but didn't have the proper work space to remove the nuts that hold the bumper to the fender inside. The preceeding instructions are correct, but I found getting at the bottom grill clips to be difficult. The following is what worked for me...I won't repeat the rest of the directions.I found that to remove the grille...I was best off removing the splash pan from under the car to get at the bottom clips. 4 screws under the bumper, three screws under the engine - and it dropped out. By jacking the car up slightly...I was able to get underneath and easily see and reach all 4 clips on the bottom of the grille. For installing the lights in the new grille - I found that the provided screws that you're supposed to use wouldn't grip in the inner top mounting points. I ended up using two of the stock screws, and they worked fine. The grille came with the bright white light bulbs - something I didn't want. I looked at the "custom" bulbs that came with the grille...and noticed that someone had just cut two of the three plastic tabs off the collar. (Actually...one was cut and the other wasn't. Add this to the missing emblem when I first got the kit - 3D needs to work on QC).Since the bulbs looked to be difficult to change after the grille was in - I bought a new pair of stock bulbs, used a nipper to trim them, and they installed just like the bright white bulbs.Once I tested the bulbs, wiring, etc - the grille snapped in and I put the splash pan back on.All in all - I'm pleased with the experience and the product. The problems I ran into were minor.

5Eleanor grill
By Patrick
This grill is top notch quality. You do not have to remove the bumper cover to install. I installed it in less than an hour by myself. Very simple. Light bulbs that come with kit have a cool blue color to them.....very trick.
