Great Solution for Storage - make sure you have help to install!

This system is exactly as advertised. I installed two kits above my two-car garage door (one kit on either side of the garage door opener). A kit consists of mounting plates (6 per kit) which attach to joists in the ceiling. Threaded rods and nuts connect to the mounting plates and then to a piece of angle iron which hold up the 3/4" 4x8 sheet of plywood (purchased separately)for each kit. The threaded rods make it easy to adjust the height of the shelves.I ran into three issues while installing: 1) the way that the ceiling mounting plates are made, they do not hold the nuts so that they will not turn; and they are too shallow to allow using a box wrench. You will need an open-end wrench that is relatively narrow to hold these nuts while you tighten them. A simple re-design of these pieces so the nut slides in snugly would have made things a lot easier while attaching the kit to the cieling. 2) A 4x8 3/4" sheet of plywood weighs a lot. Two people are required tp lift the plywood and hold it while holes are drilled and carriage bolts installed to keep it in place. 3) There are holes in the angle iron for two carriage bolts per support to go throught the plywood, but only one bolt is supplied for each mounting point. This is technically all you need, but for the money, I think they could have included them (along with a couple of spare nuts and washers!)If you cannot get some help when you install, you might be better off buying a smaller system made with coated wire (another vendor made that system). I installed one of these by myself with no trouble at all - though the storage area is 1/2 the size of the 4x8 sheet of plywood.
