I wear them all the time, even at the office...

Great on all points. I have 3 Irish Settler pairs, and it's a name I'll look for before anything else. The only issue is the laces will erode in 2 - 3 months, and 2.5 meter laces are not too easy to find. I tried with other cords, so I could supply replpacement easily, but various types would resist a little more (or much less). I purchased some parachute chord, 4mm diameter, and that is *great*. Color is OK, diameter is just what's needed, and you need to finish the ends to make the "hard" ends. I did this with a lighter: you need to do it fairly slowly, so that the cord melts in all its thickness. Then simply pulling on both ends of the cord you are "cutting" with the heat will thin it at melting zone, and finally break. If done very slowly, all fibers in all depth of the cord will have been melted together in a efficient hard end. the cord reference I found on amazon is : 180 CORD 550LB NYLON 100 FT / WOODLAND CAMO .

Great boots for tough hiking!

Although they have a pinch on the instep, I'm sure it is because they are new and need to be broken in. However, the grip on these are amazing, and I could feel an immediate difference between hiking my usual trails in these versus all terrain shoes. They are my favorite boots, durable and comfortable, and I'm sure I'm going to have them for many years to come.
