Great looking but some poor engineering design

The nerf bars look great but the instructions should be more clear. I consider the greatest flaw to be the design of the attaching brackets. The front and reat attaching brackets were identical. To lower the front of the nerf bars so they would not impinge on the bottom of the cab body they used a flimsy looking spacing ring to lower the front of the nerf bars. If it is made of aluminum or regular steel it will eventually corrode and crumble. Moreover, the body mount bolts now extend significantly less far into the threaded hole, which was probably carefully designed for optimum performance. All these flaws could have been avoided by drilling a hole in a lower position on the front mounting bracket. Of course this would have cost a fraction of a dollar more to manufacture. I think accountants have control of this company. Will engineers ever have much say about final design quality in America anymore?

Misleading photo in ad

Purchased for new 2011 extended cab 2500 Sierra. While they do fit this vehicle, the picture on the amazon site show them as being full length (steps for front and back seat area).These are shorty bars, they only provide a step for the driver/front seat passenger and not anyone trying to get in to the back seat.They do fit, but be sure that shorty bars are what you want.If you want full length bars, try going to the Westin website and seeing what the model is for your vehicle, then search on amazon for them.Sellers need to post the correct image for each product model on their pages.Plus, there are no dimensions of the bars listed anywhere on the product page.
