The Seiko Men's 5 Automatic Brown Dial Stainless Steel Watch boasts high-tech Japanese automatic movement hidden behind classic analog styling. Precise 21-jewel Japanese automatic movement keeps this watch functioning without a battery: It is powered automatically with the movement of your arm. This high-tech feature is tucked away behind the watch's brown dial, which boasts luminous silver-toned hands and baton hour markers. The dial also sports a date window at the three o'clock position, and the entire dial is protected by a mineral crystal. Keeping all of this securely on your wrist is a polished silver-toned stainless steel link bracelet that closes with a fold-over double push-button safety clasp. Other features include a stainless steel case and water-resistance to 99 feet (30 meters).

5Nice watch, but some caveats
By M. Anderson
I like my new Seiko Automatic a lot. It's stylish, keeps good time, and requires no batters. The face is a darker shade of brown than appears in the photo on Amazon, so it gives great readability, but has richness you don't get with black. The band is comfortable, nice-looking and sturdy. The clasp works well and is easy to operate. Days of the week can be displayed in English or Spanish. For me, I give this watch 5 stars. There are a couple of comments I will make about the self-winding nature of the watch. These don't bother me at all, but it's information I hope you will find useful in making your decision. When I first got the watch, I put in on and set the time. However, this was in the evening. I took it off and put it on my nightstand when I went to bed and in the morning, it had stopped. This is simply because I only wore it for a few hours and that was too little to wind it enough to last throughout the night. However, I put the watch on that morning, set the time again, wore it all day, and that made it no problem to get through the night. After several days of wear, I took it off, noted the time and date and let it sit until it stopped. The run time was 33 hours. That means, that at least for me, I need to wear the watch every other day to keep it operating without having to reset the time. Also, there is no way to wind the watch other than movement of the pendulum. Simply put in on, and in a couple of minutes it will start ticking.Due to all those considerations, there are no-doubt people that will not like this style of watch. Those issues don't affect me, so I love this watch.

5Fantastic Value, Excellent Product, Accurate Automatic?
By Malachi Constant
I have recently become obsessed with watches, very quickly acquiring an impressive collection of moderately priced time pieces. It is rare to come across an automatic watch that keeps accurate time, and this one does. I have only had it for a few days, and set it to the atomic clock online. In the past two days, it has lost ONE second, that's right, ONE SECOND! I don't know if that is common to this model, or just this particular watch, but that is better then a Submariner that costs 200 times the price of this little Japanese ticker. It is a 21 jewel automatic movement, that cannot be manually wound, it needs kinetic energy to get going. The sweeping second hand is not as smooth as a more expensive Swiss or even Japanese movement, but it's accuracy has literally blown me away. I know of far more expensive watches being off +/- 15 seconds a day. So far this has lost half a second a day, I cannot believe it. I own prettier, more expensive watches, and am waiting for the delivery of a new Hamilton, but this little Seiko far exceeds my expectations, it is more accurate that a quartz. It looks elegant too, the band is different than the standard links you see on most stainless steel watches. The face is about 36mm, so a little on the small side, but very easy to read. I haven't had the chance to wear it with a suit yet, but it will look just as good in a suit as it does in a T-Shirt and jeans. Overall, the appearance is very pleasing to the eye.I think it might be an older model, it came in the old Seiko black plastic box, didn't have any instructions or warranty information, and when you look up the instructions on Seiko's website and enter the caliber number 7S26, you get a PDF instruction manual for an automatic Divers watch, so setting it is just something you have to wing. But anyone with any familiarity with watches can set it easily. It doesn't hack, but you can stall the second hand by applying some tension to the crown as you set it, releasing it to synchronize with whatever time source you are using, I prefer this atomic clock site[...]I find it most accurate, and easiest to set a watch to.I give it a 5, easily. That is based on the accuracy alone, then take the aesthetic value into consideration, and the inexpensive price, you have one heck of a time piece here. I would recommend this watch to any man who wants to look good, and always know the right time, without spending a fortune, hell this watch cost's less than most people spend on a dinner date at a moderately priced restaurant.BUY THIS WATCH!

5seiko 5 delivers the best
By e-bird
First of all, this watch is a 7S26 movement; which means that it is regarded as Seiko's workhorse division of movements. If you do a search of the 7S26 movement, you will see what im talking about. The watch itself is very elegant. While delivering a beautiful brown face and gorgeous hour markers, the watch also stuns with its stainless steel band and hidden clasp action. I must say, this watch was well worth the money I paid for on amazon. I purchased this watch through amazon (didnt buy it from any outside sellers) and it was delivered well within the shipping parameters. I researched watches for over one month and during that time I reviewed Orient watches, Invicta watches, seiko and even a few citizen watches.(from what ive read, invicta has slacked off over the years in their watches. Swiss made and swiss movement are two totally different things). If you want a really good automatic watch, buy a bulova or any other kind of swiss made watch. But you will pay much, much more for a swiss made watch. I was intent on buying an automatic movement, but wasnt wanting to pay out the ass for a nice watch. I narrowed down the decision between an orient automatic and two other seikos. This being one of them. Then it became a matter of pricing. This watch was listed at 61.00 where as the orient was 74.99. However, the orient didnt qualify for free shipping because it was shipped from justcalculators. I saved 14bucks and got a nice watch. Although, Orient makes in house movements, which seiko does very rarely now a days. But Seiko owns a portion of Orient so its the best of both worlds. both watches are just as nice in my opinion. now for the part all you people care about: ACCURACY. This watch is very accurate. the 7S26 movement is used in some select Seiko diver watches. I got mine and wore it for 1 week straight and it only gained approx. 1 minute. This is outstanding for an automatic movement. I bought this watch on a gamble because there were so few reviews. but from what i read, it really promised a solid accurate watch. It is water resistant, BUT only for slight splashes of water. dont shower with it or submerge it in water or it will cause issues. I took it to a jeweler's and they took care of removing links. Dont try it yourself unless you know what youre doing. After wearing the watch all day, you set it down and it takes about 33 hours for the watch to wind down completely. i wear mine at least once a day and then switch over to one of my other watches. Over all, its the best seiko watch for the money and it looks good with every kind of clothing. From what I've read, the watch may gain up to 4 minutes a month, but thats no big deal, just reset it. It does require some maintenance compared with a quartz watch, but for people who enjoy watches, it is a small price to pay for a watch that will last years to come.also, the back of the watch has a glass case which allows one to view the movements while they are functioning. Craftmanship is valued highly with seiko.
