comfort great....construction quality poor
By Kindred Spirit
I purchased the Lafuma RSX mesh zero gravity recliner after reading the positive reviews on the comfort of this chair. I have to agree with that assessment. However, the chair started draining rusty water from the tubular sections of the chair and the pivot points are showing rust after only one month of use. Rain water gets into the tubular sections and apparently the insides are not coated and protected like the outside. The rust stains our deck which was just installed but quick scrubbing did remove the stains. I did not want to have to do this after every rain. I went with this more expensive chair to avoid problems like this and locally could have bough similar chairs for 1/3 the price. Of course packing it up and sending it back after all the shipping materials have been discarded would be costly. I have since tried putting tape over the holes in the tubular sections to see if that helps. I would not purchase or recommend this chair until these problems were corrected. Also be cautious with young children that don't weight much for their lower body weight makes it easy for the chair to tip over backwards....happened with a grandchild just sitting...luckily no injuries except being frightened.

If You Have Back Pain
By Jacks
Love these chairs, my husband & I both suffer from bad backs , these chairs are the only patio chairs we can sit in for long periods of time comfortably . I have found that there are a lot for cheaper "knock-offs" but the weigh much more, and are not as durable. pay the extra and buy the Lafuma brand if you will be using the chair on a regular basis it worth it.

Quality Issues - UPDATE
By Jessie
This chair is comfortable, but I definitely not satisfied with the quality. I received it as a gift 5 months ago and have used it occasionally INDOORS ONLY, so no exposure to extreme temperatures or sunlight. One of the elastic cables that support the mesh snapped, leaving me with a useless chair. I am a reasonably large guy at 200 lbs, but give me a break. They have been making chairs for over 50 years and they can't figure out how to make a quality elastic cable? So now I can either drop $30 on a replacement cable that will probably break as well or throw a $140 chair in the trash!Update: Good customer service resulted in my getting a replacement cable for free. This one has held up better - so perhaps I had a faulty one before.
